RENOVATION OF HOLIDAY HOME

Concept: The ski lodge renovation project in Thredbo, in the Snowy Mountains of NSW, was inspired by the client's desire to update their ski home and vacation rental. The primary goals were to refresh worn items, introduce updated colors and materials, and create a cozy, inviting home in the mountains. The renovation aimed to convey a sense of comfort, rest, and relaxation, with a design that harmonises with the natural surroundings.

Colour Palette: The color palette for the ski lodge renovation features primary colors of green, white, and black, complemented by accents of tan leather and timber. These colors were chosen to reflect the natural surroundings visible from the windows, with green symbolising nature and restfulness.

Design Notes: The design of the ski lodge renovation was centered around creating a cozy and inviting holiday home. Key design elements included in-floor heating for added warmth, a striking double-height fireplace as a focal point, and a luxurious soaker tub for relaxation. Hardwood floors were chosen for their durability and natural beauty, while the bedrooms were carpeted to enhance comfort. The design was inspired by nature, with a focus on incorporating the colors and elements seen outside. Despite challenges such as walls being out of alignment, the issues were resolved collaboratively with the builder on site, as the project was managed remotely without site visits. The result is a harmonious blend of natural materials and modern amenities, creating a perfect retreat in the mountains.
